About the Storytellers
Marylyn Peringer
For more than 30 years, Marylyn Peringer has shared stories with schoolchildren across Canada, as well as with her own children and grandchildren. Her wide repertoire includes tales from a variety of world cultures, but she is best known for her presentations of the funny, suspenseful folktales and legends from French Canada. An active member of Toronto’s storytelling community, Marylyn serves as Co-Resident Teacher of Storytelling Toronto and has for many years led the Summer Intensive storytelling course.
Besides storytelling, much of her joy in life comes from her family and from folk dancing four or five times a week. She is delighted to be a participant in this year’s Storytelling Festival. |
About the Storytellers
Garry Sault
Garry Sault is an Elder of the Mississaugas of New Credit First Nation. His storytelling weaves legends of a magical time when the earth was new and humans could talk to their winged and four-legged brothers and sisters. Garry makes these creatures come alive again with great respect and passion. Storytelling is a time-honoured tradition of the great Ojibway Nation. |
